Linkwitz lx521 active speaker system or Emerald Physics EP 2.8

I would like to choose Open-Baffle Speakers.

My top considerations are Emerald Physics EP 2.8

Vs.

Linkwitz lx521 or lx521.4

I would like to hear other opinions about those

Thanks

I’ve heard the Linkwitz LX521 on a number of occasions and feel it is unsurpassed. I don’t think there is a better loudspeaker value. But I have not heard the Emerald Physics, so I can’t offer an opinion there.

The LX521 is very affordable considering how good they are. You could easily spend 10 times as much and not have the same level of musicality.

The LX521 is less than half the cost of the Emerald Physics and the active crossover is an intrinsic part of the design.  With the Emerald Physics, you can bi or tri amp it, but that's done as an after thought, and being a commercial product, the profit margins necessary to make it viable also mean that the cost of the components is significantly lower than what is in the LX521.

If what you want is the last loudspeaker you'll ever buy, you can safely assume the LX521 will fit that bill.
