Late night jazz suggestions please

Hi, I was hoping some of you that have extensive jazz knowledge could suggest some good late night, atmospheric jazz albums to listen to. You know the kind - like in the movies when the weary detective comes home and pours a big tumbler of scotch, and he lives in a house or apartment that seems way beyond the means of a civil servant, and puts on some cool, sexy jazz. And definitely instrumental only. Thanks in advance.
