I have a krell 400xi with Maggie 12QRs. I am not sure what music you listen to and what you are after but you might find the bass lacking. Treble and midrange is great. Nora Jones never sounded better. Now I am trying to decide whether to keep these speakers or get a sub. The 1.6 have a little more detail and little bit more bass so it might work better. If you are use to full-range speakers...you will find the toe tapping bass missing.
