John Hurlbut & Jorma Kaukonen - "The River Flows"

Just got the vinyl of this. Amazing recording, the performance is the highest quality musicianship. Quiet vinyl. They list all the equipment used to record the session. Anyone into acoustic guitar, blues or folk/bluegrass genres, or the first Hot Tuna album, would really enjoy this.

I got both. I didn’t even know there was a volume 2 but saw it when I pulled vol 1 out of the bin. Had to get both of course.

Excellent recommendation. Just ordered. Been a Jorma fan since the hippy days. Also check out live at the vogel in red bank nj. Streaming on Tidal etc. for some great versions of classics i.e. I see the light/prohibition blues/hesitation blues

Did Justin Guip engineer these? I think the first 6 months of pandemic I didn't miss one of Jorma's Saturday night live streams from Fur Peace. Got me through. Check out his River of Time record, CD, but one of the best sounding ever. And Jack and Jorma in It Was the Music, www.itwasthemusic.net

Thanks for the recommendation. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Jorma live

I think I picked these up on Record Store Day releases.  Or maybe order them from Fur Peace Ranch.

Either way, I love the interplay between the two of them,  You can tell they have played with each other often.

I've always loved the lack of ego from Jorma.
