JBL S8R

My apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I am hoping for some forum help and guidance and information about JBL S8R speakers. I have an opportunity to get a pair. I've liked these speakers since I first heard them in the 1970s. I have all SAE components and a Thoren's TD 125 turntable with SME tone arm and Ortofon cartridge.
Asking price is $5K. If you all could point me in a helpful direction to help me decide, I would appreciate it.
Perhaps different speakers for about the same would be a wiser move? I do get a bit nostalgic thinking about these though.
