Funny you should mention that one Geoff as I was listening to that German version only last night on my Amazon Music " one hit wonders" playlist.
And of course we made them record it in English too, how arrogant .. Lol.
99 Red Balloons by Nina.

Most of the Eurovision song contest winners faded into obscurity with one massive exception of course ... Abba.

I remember watching them play Waterloo and it was like WHAT!?!?
NOBODY had seen anything quite like it on the good old stoic staid Eurovision Song Contest.
I thought the announcer was going to have a heart attack...lmao.
And of course they cake walked it which shocked my mother who was deeply offended by them! Haha.
A-Ha?
Their massive hit was Take On Me.

So another not a one hit wonder ... Lol.
Pretty sure that Sylvia was an even bigger hit than Hocus Pocus so definitely NOT a one hit wonder band were Focus I am afraid.

Oh Lordy, In the Year 2525 by Zager & Evans, I should NOT have forgotten that one as it was one of the very first singles I ever called my own!
Winnardt
After looking it up I concur but....
How many people actually KNOW that!
Lol.......

Not myself for sure.

Now I could be pedantic and say that Edison Lighthouse ALSO had a second single , " it’s up to you Petula" crack the UK top 50.

But not sure that’s really a hit... Lol.

Or truly in the spirit of this thread.....
Take on ME .... A-Ha.

Tainted Love .... Soft Cell

Relax ... Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

You Spin Me Round ... Dead or Alive.

867- 5309 ... Tommy Tutone.

Turning Japanese .... The Vapours.

St Ellos Fire ... John Parr.

Just SO many.... Lol
