Isolation Transformer “Refinements”

To clarify and expand on isolation transformer design; specifically for providing “ultra pure AC power” to high end audio products. A review of Schneider Electric Bulletin No. 7400PD9202 of April ‘92 will provide some basics. I’ll provide a link to this shortly.

Nice. One thing to notice is how low the filtering occurs at.

Another device, much less expensive, which achieves similar results is a series mode surge suppressor such as from Furman or Brickwall which has a -3 dB point somewhere around 3 kHz if memory serves.

Best,
Erik

A good sounding filter block (complex LCR of complete device) is one of the great tricks of the trade in power line filtering/enhancement markets.

Medical and pro gear built for such -- tends to be degrading in sonics as much as they filter power.

Wrong kind of lore for the wrong scenario.
