Isolation Springs Deal

Any value Audiogoners looking for a great audio value?  I have a set on these under my Raven Amp with nice results and more on order.

I can see a potential problem with this design though, if the weight of the piece of gear you're using these on is not evenly distributed. I think that applies to almost all turntables (and so many other pieces of gear). You certainly don't want to trade-off/substitute a level turntable over more isolation.

OP,

Great catch. Great deal.

I am not sure I have this brand, but while I have a very high end SRA isolation platform under my turntable. I put this general kind of springs under all of my other components. They, even at $30 for 4 are a screaming deal… let alone $11!

you adjust for the load by removing some of the springs. I have actually left one spring for a really light component on my headphone system. I was pretty shocked it worked.

You want each of the units to compress around half way or less. So, some experimentation is required.

My plan is to use these until I can afford a sophisticated solution. They did make a positive impact on every thing I put them under… amp, preamp… etc.

@ghdprentice agreed…same experience here. I use 1 spring on my lighter components. On my amp, I use 1 spring in front and three on the back where more weight resides to balance the compression with good results.

Yes, they are great value. I bought them after reading the thread here on how to mix the springs based on weight of component: sorry I don't have the link.

I have probably 6 sets to sell because I moved up in price to gain even better results

@tweak1 if you don’t mind what did you move up to and to what degree of improvement did you gain?

I bought the black ones that are much less noticable.

You can change the number of springs to change the load capacity. My tube amp is heavier in the rear so I took some springs out of the front to make it sit level.

I can't say that I heard an obvious improvement but they make sense.

@tweak1 sorry  but I was inquiring what you replaced the spring sets with st the higher price. Thanks

This is good news. A few months ago I bought three sets of these and placed six units under each of my 150 pound floorstanders. The springs made very noticeable improvements in the presence of deepest bass, bass clarity and separation of instruments in space and overall “sweetness.”

Earlier on I had installed a set of four Nobsound units under my heavy SS amp with very good results. I chose the Audiocrast units for the speakers because supposedly they supported more max weight per unit.

At this price I’ll have to order four more sets to replace some DIY isolation devices.

Great info. Thanks @tksteingraber

I bought two sets, but they are still boxed. I will try them out soon under components.

I personaly wouldn't use a device like this to place under any audio equipment. What you have here is basically a shock absorber with all the damping fluid gone. This thing will continue to osculate long after any bump or floor vibration causes it to move. Also it will move in two directions, side to side and up and down.I cringe at the thought of somebody placing these under +100 lb speakers.Footers like this need to be dampened. But hey the price is really CHEAP.

You may cringe but I have these under Tekton Moabs and haven't had any problems.  People that are concerned about the oscillation usually place ear plugs into the springs to damp them but I haven't done that.

@dpop

i think the purpose of these things is to absorb micro vibrations of short duration and amplitude… not earthquakes. My experience is the do really good for the money.

On my systems they make a meaningful  difference and well worth using.  Just can’t justify spending big on the top brands.  Best success for me has been using them on speakers.  I placed them between  my Fritz speakers and stands with 3 springs and a 10 lb weight on top of speaker.  Nice improvement to bass and overall sound stage.  Also have used them under my GE Triton towers with similar results.  Using on my Amp, Dac, streamer, transport seem to help to a lesser degree.  Time will tell..

Spring Isolation anyone?  Screaming deal on again for anyone considering spring isolation on components or speakers!  $18 set of 4 nice quality with adjustable spring count for weight variations. See link above…

Each one can support 25kg. For example, if you buy 2, they can support 50kg.
