is TV varity a good way to break in speakers?

I just bought a pair of GMA Europa. The speaker wires are audioquest slate, also new. I noticed my roommate watches 10 hours of TV everyday. (I should rethink out electric bill sharing percentage). Is TV a good way to break in my speakers? It might take me 2 months to break them in myself since I have to study. When no TV shows or movies to watch, he just leaves on MTV, VH1, and BET. I think that is a good range of sound that exercises the speakers and the wires. I can rack up 200 hours very quick.

Beatles & Stones (of course)
Dylan
Dead
Cream
Jeff Airplane (before that Starship nonsense)
Yougbloods
Moody Blues
Jethro Tull
Allman Bros.
Quicksilver Messenger Service
The Band

I've been lucky enough to have heard most of them play at least once (w/exception of Beatles) and my ears are still ringing from some of them (although loudest by far was Mahavishnu Orchestra, w/Quicksilver a somewhat distant second)
