Is the Krell DVD Standard a good CD-Player????

How is the Older Krell DVD Standard on Redbook cds?
Did the DVD Standard have Transport problems(i.e. SACD Standard).
Can the DVD Standard hold its own compare to players in
the $2500.00-$3000.00 range(AYRE CX-7e,,,Mu-Fi A5,,,Cary)
