inexpensive preamps

I have an old system, 1992, with 2 kef book shelf speakers, adcom amp, luxman multidisc cd changer, 3 rooms with inwall luxman speakers, and a luxman tp  117 preamp.  The luxman preamp needs repair, $2-300.  Would it be better to purchase a new emotiva pt 100 preamp?  Thanks.

That Emotiva sounds like a good idea. It will give you digital inputs as well (e.g. for a Chromecast Audio streamer).
You didn't mention if you are handy with a soldering iron, but if you are, you might consider buying the Transcendent Sounds Grounded Grid preamplifier ($499 in kit form). I can heartily recommend it.

Schiit Freya…they're fun, and 700 clams (not money, they insist on actual clams…strange).
