Im a knuclehead

Didnt mute the preamp while fiddling with the interconnects.
Getting a crackling sound in one channel of my McCormack 225.

Any guesses on whats damaged? Am I looking at a major repair here?

Well you are correct Peter. It was a blown fuse. Thanks

I was under the impression that I would get no sound at all if the fuse blew.

Live and learn....
With any luck only a blown rail fuse - if your technically inclined pop the lid and take a look. Unplug it and let it sit for a few hours before proceeding giving the main filter caps time to bleed off.

Best of luck

Peter
