I need one for every room...and two for the garage!

Have to love it....THIS is what the hobby has degenerated into:

Like I said in my thread header, I'm buying one for every room and two for the garage, I mean at that price I just have to...before they double the price!

What do you guys think..how many are you buying?

That reminds of those over-priced Tripoint Audio grounding boxes with not much more than audiophile air inside. I'm always wary about buying cables or any product for that matter from businesses which encourage some of the indirect marketing we've seen on this site. I don't think that is good business practice, and it is killing what was a once friendly forum for genuine audiophiles to discuss our hobby.

At no point in the description are the basics of what amount and kind of power are being offered. The outlets show an ability to handle 20 amp plugs but no amperage or other specs are given.

Who would spend $80k on the kind of nonsense description devoted to an unclear explanation of magnets? Would like this purchaser to invest in my land in West Texas...

For 80 grand, they could of at least put it in a much nicer box and not show all those ugly screws.  I would love to see the inside of the conditioner to see how much nothing there is inside.   80 grand would buy me a very nice and brand new BMW.   I’ll bet there isn’t more than 5K worth of parts inside the conditioner.  It’s like my dad told me, “there is an ass for every seat”.

Heck, I don’t know what all the fuss is about. After all, it is an Elite model.
I bought 1. When I plugged it in, the magnets were so strong that all the screws from the drywall were coming lose and any stray pieces of metal soon became stuck to this unit. I was dodging screwdrivers and ipads that were attracted to this unit. Beware if you put 1 in your garage, it just might move parked cars toward this unit
I bought two for my garage, but had to return them because I couldn't back the cars out!

"80 grand would buy me a very nice and brand new BMW."

It would not buy you a spare tire in it. You just cannot have it all. The screws would be hidden, though.
stereo5,

It is not a topic for this thread, but calling AAA on some parts of highway 380 in Texas and asking for the tire for anything but Ford F-150 or similar, may result in a moment of silence. And, easily, in a night at Hotel Garza. Lubbock is not far, but if the stores are not open...

Still, I agree with you. BMW over that....what is it anyway?
It's just sad to see something so ridiculous being offered.  It is an insult to our hobby that their are people out there that want to hustle that kind of ridiculous over the top nonsense. Frankly I wouldn't even permit that on our site as a courtesy in defense against anyone pushing a fraud like that.  I felt the same about Tripoint but at least they had pretty boxes for their distributors.
mechans,

I am like you regarding your feeling about this, whatever it is, but would cut it some slack. I do not remember those times, but at some point expensive cables probably started appearing just like this thing did. Years later, many still consider it an insult (cables that cost tens of thousands of US, or any other, Dollars), but other many swear they are worth it. See how many fierce debates about cables are fought on Audiogon. That is not to say that stereo5's BMW does not seem like a much more prudent investment.
Full of Audiophile air. Made me giggle.

Im surprised at the lack of “make an offer” button
Looks like I dodged a bullet. I got off the AC grid entirely. What’s better than conditioned AC? No AC. No more messed up AC power, no more ground issues. No more expensive power cords, or expensive power conditioners. No more pencils, no more books, no more teacher’s dirty looks. 🤨
@geoffkait Yeah my friend has a large bank of highly efficient solar PV with mil-spec batteries & is independent of the grid. Hence his audio room runs on 100% battery power which is as good as it gets.

My hopes are dashed...

Was planning on purchasing the Pivetta Opera Only amplifier at $2.2 million to use with this power conditioner BUT then came the sad realization...

...the Pivetta requires 240 volts!

Well, what can you expect from a 1.5 ton work of art? And where can you find a set of speakers comfortable with120,000 watts? Don't think the Wilson WAMMs will accommodate quite that much power.

Guess I'll have to slum with my current system...

@craigl59 Not to worry, I spoke to their reps and they will be happy to make up a ’one off’ version that will support 240 volts. In fact it will support much more...up to 10 thousand volts. Price increases by only $45K...but you have to pay cash only...;0)
I am not going to pay 80 grand for a piece of audio gear unless they tell me it is " Reference quality "

daveyf:

This kind of effort on your part is why these threads work so well...

Hopes Dashed #2

Unfortunately, I buy all audio equipment with my Visa card in order to get the 2% back. SO, SADLY, once again, will not be able to achieve an otherwise completely sensible goal.

WOW! Gotta get me one of those bad boys - I’d have me my own mini Straight Line Accelerator - maybe open a little black hole or something.
On the other hand, If I actually had a cool 80K setting around, I could pick up a couple of new Harley CVOs. or just do the smart thing and pay off the house..Jim
