How to re-terminate Tara Labs AES-EBU cables

I have some used Tara Labs cables that has compromised shielding at the connectors and one of them does not work. I own several cables from a number of companies and I must say that Tara Labs' weakness is where the cable meets the plug. There is nothing protecting the cable from bending 90 degrees and harming itself.

Still, I like the cables. Should I try to re-terminate them myself? Any suggestions from those of you who have done this? Perhaps I should contact Tara Labs and hope for the best.

I'll second the idea of contacting Drew at Moon Audio. The man does absolutely first-rate work.
