How to program the TIVO remote to work with the PARASOUND HALO Integrated amplifier

I have been trying to program my TIVO remote to control the volume on my PARASOUND HALO Integrated amplifier and cannot get it to work.

The TIVO Settings say to use the remote code 1254 to connect but this does not work.  I then used the instructions below and they did not work (I did this 3 times):

"Search for a code to control the volume on your A/V or stereo receiver
 1. Cover the end of the TiVo remote control with your hand.
2. Hold down the TiVo and Mute buttons simultaneously until the red (or amber) light on the remote control remains on.
3. Remove your hand from the end of the TiVo remote control.
4. Enter code 1999.
5. After you enter the code, the red (or amber) light will flash three times and then remain on.
6. Press Channel Up once every two seconds. This will test hundreds of codes, one by one. Do not go any faster than this or you may skip over a code that works.

Reminders:
  • If you press Channel Up and the volume on your AV/Stereo receiver becomes muted, press Enter to select the code. Press Volume Up and then Volume Down to test the code. If the volume changes, you have successfully programmed the remote.
  • If you cycle through all the codes, the red LED will go off, indicating that you have tried all the codes. If this happens, or if you selected a code but the AV/Stereo receiver does not respond to the test, try again to make sure you did not skip over your code by going too fast”.

After entering the 1999 code, I pressed the channel up button at least 250 times.   Do I have to keep going???

I called my CABLE Company and they confirmed that what I was doing is correct so they referred me to TIVO Customer Support.   I will call them on Thursday.

The Parasound remote works fine so I should be able to program the TIVO Remote to control the volume on the Parasound HALO amp.   Does anyone have a TIVO Remote code for the Parasound HALO amp that will correctly program the TIVO remote, or any other suggestions?    Any suggestions are appreciated.       Thanks....

there are times where you will have a code for a particular device and no matter how hard you try to program the remote, the two arent compatible.   this might be one of those times.
