Your husband, or boyfriend, has loads of patience. You’ve got too many requirements for your speakers... 7”-8” Driver, 6” to 8” off the floor, side firing woofer as long as it’s light to medium grey, ribbon tweeters or diamond dome tweeters, looks good but no exotic wood finishes or automotive finishes, 45”-46.25” in height, no wider than 9” but no narrower than 10”... You get the point. I actually started a tongue in check thread about something similar with regards to an integrated amp built between 2004-2006 with serial numbers between 100046 and 10058 with a volume knob on the left because I have an unruly parrot that likes loud disco music and will turn up the volume knob and blow my speakers... You’re an awfully complicated Gal (like most 😋) You ought to keep the Burmesters and buy your significant other a steak dinner (Filet mignon + a pint of his favorite brew) and let him know how much you appreciate him 😂😘🌺 In all seriousness, I think we’ve just been played boys... |

LoL, I like the emoji’s; shows spunk and character. I really don’t think she’s a boomer either. MBL’s are incredible. My favorite! I’ve “only“ heard the 101E mkii though, never the X-Tremes. I heard that there is a gentleman that has 6 Xtremes in his home in new york, set up all around the listening position 😵. Now thats a surround sound set-up that would be engulfing to say the least. Alsyvox was pretty dang impressive too but my mansion in heaven is MBL all the way through. They are astonishing. I’ve been lucky enough to listen to them for a few hours on two different occasions. The husband / wife distributors for MBL are out of New York and they are awesome! I would have asked their names but everyone is too busy listening to music. I friggin love it. Other rooms at audio shows always have 2 old dudes sitting right behind me talking about what the ate for lunch, clankin’ together their lanyards. The MBL room, everyone is just sitting there dead silent in aww. It probably doesn’t hurt that you couldn’t hear a dang word anyone would say; probably why people shut up and just listen. |
@eisen0169, so if you have speakers that look plain and still sound good then you’re good to go 👍. Also, many of us close our eyes while listening to music; another great way to focus in on what you are hearing, not seeing! interestingly, I was in contact with a man yesterday and today who was going to back out of a speaker purchase and settle for a speaker that he admittedly didn’t think sounded as good because he thought it looked better. When his wife saw him boxing up the better sounding speakers she put a stop to it and said the speakers weren’t going anywhere. |
