How low is a piano?

I've heard that the open low string on a upright bass is about 42hz. Does anyone know where the lowest notes on a piano fall?

About 40” 😉.  The lowest note on a Bosendorfer Imperial is (CCC) 16.5 hz.

I have a DVD of Ray Bryant playing a monster Bosendorfer. video old, scared me, but the sound is AWESOME, whoever recorded that, used 3 mikes along the length of it I seem to remember.

Ray is terrific, I had no idea, inherited it with all the LP's from my friend Roderick.

My Steinway grand piano is 28 1/8" high from the floor to the top of the white keys.  It will not go any lower, therefore, 28 1/8" is the lowest.
