Hovland news

The article that came to my attention said the phono cable had been picked up by Graham. Granted not a lot can go wrong with one, but they also mentioned some names for servicing and someone may yet pick it up, the product was good. Just didn't sell enough domesticly to make it so it could afford to sell what it did internationally.

Never owned any Hovland gear, but was always a big fan of their industrial design.

What a shame. Their preamp's are a great peice of audio gear in their price range.

Sorry to hear this news. I have owned the HP-100 with MC Phono Section for 5 years. Late last year, I returned the unit to them for re-tubing and to install modifications to update the unit. The mods absolutley have made the phono section spectacular. Dead quiet backgrounds and crystal clarity. Unfortunately in this hobby, if you hold onto a piece of gear long enough, the company that made it will probably not be in existence to service it.
