The platter lifts off the spindle, and can be wrapped separately in Visqueen, then styrofoam or foam rubber. Makes for a bigger(or another) box, but prevents inertial damage to the spindle and bearings, should jarring occur.
Help shipping Denon DD turntable
I just bought a Denon turntable that has the magnetic strip on the platter which is used for speed regulation. I need to instruct the seller as to how to handle the platter so that this is not damaged. I have never owned one of these tables, so I need some advice on how to have it shipped so as to avoid damage.
