Help choose a speaker for Cayin A-88T

I'm a rank noob looking for some advice for a new to me Cayin A-88T amplifier.
I'd like to stay under 1K with a little wiggle room.
I'm using a Rega Planar 1 turntable, Sonos connect (Wyred4sound).
I do have some  Von Schweikert VR-1s that I have tried with it and they are a bit anemic.
I use the VR-1s in my bedroom.
The room I'm using them in is a living room that is 22'X18' with 24' ceilings and pretty reflective.

I've read through threads and think the following would be good candidates.
Vandersteen 1Ci, Elac Unifi F5, SVS Prime Tower, Golden Ear Triton 7.

I wouldn't mind getting used but I'm so naive about this I'm worried I'll get burned.
Any advice would be nice.  Thanks for taking a minute to lend your sage wisdom.

Used is fine imo , if shipped properly and insured .I would only buy here used personnally and from solid members..You have a big room buddy in cubic feet it will take alot of system to attain volume imo for a grand even used..Another you may find would be proacs in that range .I have a home theatre room seperatley then 2:2 room its about that size.I have a set of whafedale floorstanders in that price range used with a 190 w class d pioneer elite 7:1 set up .I find that when i,m running in 2channel mode its takes some juice to get some volume .But certainly possible to achieve go with a efficient spkrs 90 db .Jmho ...
good luck .
enjoy the music
Thanks for the help.
For the next 6 months I'm on call at 2 different hospitals 24/7 and have to remain within a 30 minute response time.  No chance to get anywhere to listen but I'd like to get something set up.
