The dac will decode the HDCD signal from a non-HDCD player just fine.

Hello,
I have a chance to acquire DAC that decodes HDCD format.
I would be using the digital out of my Jolida tube cd player which has a standard format internal dac.
Will the external (HDCD) DAC decode the digital signal from the Jolida cd player to HDCD format?
Does the transport device, and digitial signal differ for standard format versus HDCD format?
