Has anyone tried these stunning new CPT power cord?

Considering the many, many brands of power cords I've tried in my very well accomplished high-end system, I have never been so impacted by these Core Power Technology power cords. Within a very short period(15-20) minutes my system literally came alive. Soundstage opened wider and deeper. The background became dead silent, space between instruments and stage members were more focused and everything sounded cleaner and musical than ever. My highs had a glorious crispness and symbols shimmered. Midrange through my 2" horn became more dynamic and punchy. My 15" bass driver tightened and dug low with great control. My Rel G1 which is a fabulous sub on its own but with a CPT 150 on it is another story. Running high pass from my sub to my Audiozen Noah amplifier, music depth is just stunning. Lower end bass is authoritative and clean with solid grip and impact.
My experience with these power cords is truly magical. The scary part of the above is I only have one 150 on my sub and one 300 from my wall to my 6 outlet bar. I still need 3 more to complete my system. I could just imagine the level after that...In closing, I cannot emphasize enough to try one of these in your system. I CANNOT and WIIL NOT take these out as they are that good. But hold your jaw, cuz what you've been listening to will just become real after Core Power Technologies.

Cheers....and let the tapping begin.......

Bacardi, It looks like the highest power cord available can handle only 300 watts. Is that correct?

Bacardi,

You must try one of the new Cerious Technologies Graphene Extremes.

Bacardi, No, I haven’t. The drawback to the CPT cables to me was the low gauge and low current it draws which limits it to low power sources. But, as you mentioned they will have a larger gauge version soon so I would be interested in trying it.

Want to swap a set to audition?

Bacardi,

My amp weighs 160lb and my speakers weigh 215lbs each! So, the CPT weight doesn't surprise me.

Lets see, if I keep lifting them I may not have to go to the gym anymore.

So, if you use a CPT 300 Watt with a 4 outlet adapter, why would you also need individual CPT power cords going to each piece of equipment?

Wouldn't it have already done its thing by splitting the power into a balanced output?

Bacardi, Since you won't swap me with me to try the Cerious Graphene cables and the CPT power cords, I'm going to get one of these power cords to try with/against my Cerious Technologies Graphene power cables.

steakster,

My plan as it stands now is to plug the CPT 300 power cord into my PS Audio P-10 and then into a homemade 8 outlet center using Oyaide, SR, and Maestro outlets with a Furutech IEC.

From there the individual components (mostly digital) will be plugged into the outlet center with the Cerious Technologies Graphene power cables.

It looks like I should have my CPT power cord early next week to use with my source equipment and the Cerious Graphene power cords.

bacardi, I would like to try another CPT later on with my Pass Labs amp (which has its own dedicated 30 Amp line). But, I don't think the CPT 300 watt version is going to cut it.

Well , I just received the CPT 300 and plugged it in.

It is much larger than I thought. I don’t know how Bacardi has many of these.

First listen audio so-so. video (cable Box) so-so.
But... 20 minutes later the video (cable box) is looking much better and the audio is improving. I don’t know why I am surprised because I know power cords need to break in. But, with the video you can almost see the picture improving as you watch it.
I think with the audio I need to give it more time. However, what I’m now hearing is mighty impressive, no downside.
I have everything running from my PS-10. I had to use 3- DIY 8 way outlets daisy chained from my PS-P-10. All of my Audio components are using the Cerious Technologies Graphene power cables.

I was able to see on my PS P-10 that all of my items were well under 300 watts. But when I added my 85" Samsung UHD it jumps to 450+ watts.
So, the Samsung, JL Audio Subwoofers and my Pass Labs amp are the only components not plugged into the CPT 300.

I do want to try one on my amp eventually

4orreal,

They use 2 different approaches. I really had to struggle to get all of my sources to be able to be run from the one CPT, and for now I don't plan on moving them again, sorry.

What I can say is the CPT is rated for 300 watt maximum so it can't be used to power my PS Audio P-10 or my Pass Labs amp. Also, the CPT provides balanced power and costs much more and because of this it is best shared with several pieces of equipment.

Bacardi,

Just so we keep this in the proper context.

My CPT 300 5 footer cost me about $850 (and includes a fairly substantial balanced transformer) and the Cerious Graphene Extreme cost about $300.

Worldwide,

Aren’t you a dealer for the CPT cables?

Just my opinion of course but the CPT 300 due to its size and balanced nature is best suited for multiple components. Giving all that is plugged into it the benefit of balanced power. The Graphene cables are best suited for the individual components. I own and really like both cable brands.

Buying all CPT cables for the individual components really would add up the $$$ and you would have a huge pile of balanced transformer boxes.

Bacardi, the price for the Graphene Extreme doesn’t just double when the length is doubled. But, I bought mine early on (about $300 for 5 foot) so I’m not sure of the actual current pricing. Also comparing the CPT 150 which has only a 150 watt capacity is not in the same league as the Cerious Technologies Graphene Extreme which use much larger conductors in their design and would power much more than 300 Watts. The CPT 300 would seem to make sense for comparison pricing. The CPT 300 5 footer costs $850.

My point was for all to keep the prices of the individual cords used in the forth coming shoot outs in perspective.

joecasey,

I am using the CPT300 on a DIY power strip. My front end components are plugged in that power strip with Cerious Technologies Graphene cables. Together this combo far exceeds anything I had with the HiDiamond, High Fidelity in terms of transparency and natural sound. Not warm, not bright just right.

The box is kind of large. I guess about 8"x8". That why the cable from the wall is long, so it can be placed out of the way. The cable length from the box can be ordered in different lengths.

Sorry, the cables are not that flexible.

First a question then an observation.

Has anyone been able to contact Mark or anyone from Core Tech? I have sent numerous emails, phone messages and I even sent messages through the Audiogon system with no reply.

My observation and a concern is that the 300 watt version that I have has NO ground connected at the output. With a power strip I plugged in a voltage tester and it shows an open ground. Thinking that my power strip may be the problem, I then tried an adapter to convert the IEC end to a AC 3 prong. Again, the voltage tester shows an open ground. Is this normal? Now maybe the transformer grounds the unit, but everything else after that has no ground.

Mark,

I disagree, I have left at least 3 phone messages and many more emails.

But, that being said, please answer the question as to why the 300 watt shows an open ground at its output. Is mine defective? Can anyone else confirm that the IEC end has no ground signal?

Mark,

Thank you for calling me. Mark assured me that everything is ok with my 300 watt unit and he will have his engineer talk to me more about it.

jmcgrogan,

I'm lead to believe that the transformer is grounded but with my measuring type equipment it shows as a open ground on the output end. Once I talk to the engineer I hope to understand further and I'll share that  info.

Mark,

I'm think of using the 1800 for my amp and plug the 300 into it for my digital (which I use with a power strip).

Would this provide better sound quality for the digital? Or would I still be better off using the 300 and the 1800 on different dedicated circuits?

Ok, here is my update on the new CPT 1800.

I have the CPT 300 plugged into one of my dedicated circuits. With the CPT 300 I am using several DIY outlet strips that power all of my digital equipment. Oppo 105, cable box, PS Audio Direct Stream Dac, Tascam HiRez recorder etc.

My second dedicated line is used for my 2 JL Audio F-113 subs and my Denon home theater receiver.

The 3rd dedicated line is used with the CPT 1800 powering my Pass Labs Amp (X350.5), DEQX , BSG QOL and my 85" Samsung UHD.
I had left over one of those Quantum power stickers so I put it on the wiring inside the 1800. I don’t know if it provides any benefit though. I also found that using a Audio Magic PE and Pulse Gen also increased the performance of the CPT 1800. Looking inside the 1800 it is just one big transformer.

So with all that, my Samsung picture has never looked better, everything looks almost 3D like. With newscasters you can actually see very clearly wrinkles and the heavy make up. I think I can tell which ones have caps on there teeth !

The audio is purer with a smooth natural tone. I tried using my Cerious Technologies (yellow power conditioner cord) on the CPT 1800 but I have decided that the included power cord works just fine. So, I was able to reuse the Cerious cable elsewhere.

So, to me, the CPT 1800 is highly recommended. It is not pricy compared to the many $$$ power conditioners that are out there and it can run your whole system, amps and all!

Enjoy!

    Mark,

    Monoprice sells them.

Yesterday my wife commented that "whatever you have done to the TV now shows all the makeup and teeth problems in the picture". I took that as a compliment.

    sadono,

Thanks for the info. The Darbeevision I had was the first version so I’m not sure if it was the 5000s. It worked real good until I got the Samsung 4k UHD 85" ($10,000) TV. It actually then degraded the picture. I will check it out again when they come out with a 4K version.

The best I can comment on the Redmere Active 18gbs cables is, please try them and then comment. They go for around $20 depending on the length. I bet you will be impressed. BTW. Previously before the Redmere's I used the WireWorld Platinum Silver Starlight 7.

    glory,

I owned the Nordost items you mentioned. The CPT 1800 is a different animal and yes, you will really like it even with the Nordost "stuff"

I am using a Pass Labs X350.5 with my 1800 and the CPT 1800 makes it sing!

    ozzy

    benzman,

Yeah as much as I liked the PS P-10 the CPT 1800 is much better. It is smaller, lighter and boy does it improve Video and Audio.

Now, I’m probably part of a lunatic fringe when it comes to power products.

At my breaker box, I have the Mad Scientists tubes on the main and on my 3 dedicated lines. Over all of the breakers are 2 pieces of emf cloth.

I used 10 gauge wiring from the breaker to Furutech GTX-R outlets in my Audio Room.

In my room, there are 3 separate Furutech outlets for my Analog, another 3 Furutech outlets for the Digital and 2 more for my subwoofers (JL Audio F-113). All of these have the Oyaide covers.

I have a total of 16 of the Hi Fidelity MC-05’s plugged in throughout my system.

On one of my dedicated digital outlets I have the CPT 300 plugged in. From the CPT 300, I have a DIY 8 way outlet tap utilizing BybeeTech power supplies and signal enhancers and some WA Quantum Physics stickers. I also use some of the Audio Magic PE and Pulse gen products throughout.

On one of the analog outlets I have the CPT 1800 plugged in that powers my Pass Labs X350.5 power amp, BSG QOL, DEQX, and my 85" Samsung UHD.

All the powers cords used are Cerious Technologies Graphene or CPT.

I know, I’m over the edge. But, it keeps me calm...

Has anyone heard from Mark lately? I have sent several emails and I also left a voice message.

    That must be some hangover!

    I haven’t.

In fact I don’t get a reply via email or voice mail anymore. I never received the feet for my 1800 either.

    Mark, are you out there?

Non communication is my biggest disappointment in dealing with small businesses. It usually means problems.

    ozzy

    Mark,
I have emailed you with no return response and I called the other day and left a message for you to call me back. Evidently after I posted on this thread that I was unable to contact you there now is a message (within the last couple of hours) on the answering machine.Texting me is useless. Since I retired a few years back I do not own a cell phone. I probably will get another someday but for now I don’t miss it.

You say you are sending out the CPT 1800/1200 feet at 10 packs a day. I must have been one of the first few users of the CPT 1800 or 1200 units, so I don’t understand why it is taking so long to get the feet. Has anyone received them? Right now I’m using vibrapods under it.

The Deep Core has been coming since October, please give a realistic timeframe.

Growing pains is tough, you have a good product in the balanced power supply CPT  300/1800/1200 units. Perhaps you are trying to produce more items than you can?

    ozzy

I'm sorry guys but I have had it with Mark. So many emails for so long saying " I will have them out to you next week" ...since October!

I have even heard from Mark that the inventor of his "Deep Core" died and it would not be produced, then it will, but it hasn't. Then there were so many illness excuses from Parkinson's to Cancer. Then the crazy statement about sending out the footers in reverse order, but he promised to send mine out right way. Err two months ago!.

I have received a few emails from folks who say your footers are nothing but .50c junk. So I guess keep them, I am no longer interested.

There are a few things that I value in this world and keeping one's word is a big one.

There is history of this man with other adventures if you care to Google his name.

Now to take my meds as calloway suggests...

    klh007,
I think ribr, question is about the "Deep Core" unit.
    ribr,
I haven't  heard anymore from Mark since I returned the trial unit that did not work.
    ozzy
I have been thinking of removing the power cord from the 300 and replacing it with an IEC so that I can try different power cords.
    ozzy

Correction on my last post. I need to install an ac inlet (not an IEC) in order to plug a power cord into the CPT 300.

    Mark,

The transformer in my CPT 300 has just stopped working. Also the breaker shattered in a million pieces. So I don't know if the breaker blew the transformer or vise a versa.
    Please advise ASAP.

P.S. I sent a email and just left a voice mail message.

    Thank you,
    ozzy

It turns out the problem was only the breaker.
I was able to jump the breaker and everything works.
What screwed me up was that I forgot that you can't check the connections with one of those circuit testers because the balanced transformer will show as no ground connection.

    ozzy
    Mark,

I sent you a email with no reply.
Can you give me an update on the replacement breaker?
