Has anyone tried the Django TVC preamp?

I have an option to buy a older Django TVC preamp with the S&B Transformers. The seller is asking $1200 for it (apparently it was factory built). Is that a fair price?

Any thoughts of how the preamp will sound/match with Welborne 300B DRD amps and Kliphorns (modded) speakers?

Any thoughts and opinions will be much apprecaited.
