Hagerman Audio Labs Humbucker

Hi all,

Does anybody have any experience with these? I'm looking to get one for my Rega P3, but want to get feedback first. Does the humbucker have some sort of damping material underneath the steel body to prevent it from adding any vibration, given that it sits right atop the motor?

Thanks!

This is to solve a very specific problem- hum when Grado and Rega are used together.

Years ago I found a simpler method. The motor is ungrounded. So I ran a wire connected between the motor case and the tonearm ground. No more hum with the Grado cartridge. I've done this several times with the same result.

This is an oversight on Rega's part; no idea why they've not fixed this problem in the last 20 years... plenty of time to sort that one out.

IMO/IME, 8 inches of wire is pretty cheap and the kind of wire used isn't critical :)

Wouldn’t the humbucker be effective with any cartridge that isn’t fully shielded, like Rega carts?
