Geoff Emerick

Chief recording engineer for The Beatles- R.I.P.
jafant
Many will miss him. One of the best ever books written about the Beatles and an insightful and quick read, is his:

"Here, There and Everywhere, my life recording the music of the Beatles"

It takes you from Emerick's first job at Abbey Road studios as a virtual errand boy when the Beatles started recording, to their chief engineer starting on Revolver, all the way to the end of The Beatles and beyond.
It also includes perceptive insights into the unique personalities of the individual Beatles and George Martin.
There are also a number of great interviews with Geoff available on youtube. Clearly, a key character in the story of The Beatles and a modest and engaging fella as well .
RIP Geoff
