For a few dollars more

You could take your speakers, hang em high, and feel the sudden impact. Granted you may have to turn your amp every which way but loose, but then you could play misty for me any which way you can and not feel like we had to run the gauntlet. In a perfect world the beguiled listener would be the rookie, and to spend more would be a true crime. In other words, you don't need to spend a million dollar, baby.

BUT you sure can.. NO PROBLEM either.

I'm listening to 650.00 budget system right now.. sounds wonderful..

Mellos pizza on the way.. life is good.. Heart attack in a pie.. 1th one in over a year... :-)
Sounds like you could be walking a tightrope with that pizza. Careful, don't want to find yourself on heartbreak ridge and wind up in the dead pool, Callahan.

I always suspected your luxury habits by the way...

Mine is 500 bucks....
Space cowboys, having trouble with the curve. Listen, it is midnight in the garden of good and evil but I do not have absolute power so if you would at least please try not to get in the line of fire? Like to avoid The Eiger Sanction if we can.
Only for a fist full of dollars, though. If that would make my day, right turn Clyde and Scrap the Caddy...Only if you are a Kelly's Hero.
Rawhide, HELL...silk, is much better. Go paint your WAGON dude...

:-)
It’s all one big mystic river, ain’t it?
oldhvymec gets it.
Head em up, move em out, rawhide!
"Wish i knew what you were talking about?"

Be careful what you wish for...

Sorry, Frank.
Sometimes you have to take the good, the bad, and the ugly.....
Two mules for sister Sarah, Josey Wales was an outlaw, and The one where they poisoned his silly ass, with mushrooms... Can't remember the name of that one PUNK...go ahead make my Day... No No paint the whole town white... All of it.. Grabs the store keepers wife heads up stairs.

Yup Clint did have a way about him, Philo Getto, with that stupid tat of a spider on his belly.. AND WIGS. His mother in the series.. Clyde. William Smith, the big guy that broke his arm.. The one in the Falklands he was a Gunny. LOL Lee Marvin in Paint your wagon. I'm dying laughing.. Lee Marvin, Telly Savalas, AGING Veterans compared to Clint back then..
Best character actor EVER, Val Kilmer playing "Doc Holiday" in Tombstone.

I love when he’s talking to Ringo, with a bullet hole in his head walking towards him.. Something about his hypocrisy, being to great.. Great acting in that one too..

I’ll be your huckleberry.. oh yea I'm an OAK.. LOL

Regards
"Best character actor EVER..."

Joe Buck!

Working for minimum wage!

(Voight was paid "scale", or the Screen Actors Guild minimum wage, for his portrayal of Joe Buck, a concession he willingly made to obtain the part.)
This here is a .357 magnum, the most powerful gun in the world. It will blow your head clean off. So you have to ask yourself, “Do I feel lucky?”...
“it’s a hell of a thing, driving inefficient speakers with a little tube amp. You take away all it has and all it’s ever gonna have.”

“Yeah. Well I got they had it coming.”

”We all have it coming,kid.”
Good for you! An excellent thread. I'm sure most of your naysayers wouldn't dare bite off their tongue to spite you. Kudos miller carbon for some needed levity and homage to a great actor, director and producer, one of the greatest of all time. He certainly stood in the line of fire and successfully navigated the gauntlet...
Damn, the first thought I had about this thread was that Clint had died. Had to check the news. Glad to see it wasn't true. I have barely gotten over losing John Prine.

Not to mention holding his own with Clyde.

Clint Eastwood will never die. But the day we lose him I will mourn. Even just writing the words chokes me up a little. I love movies about as much as music, and Eastwood is as big a movie star as they come. As a director he is up there with Quentin. As a producer he is up there with the, well no on second thought he totally outclassed the one I was gonna say. Come to think of it he outclasses just about everyone.

He was at one point if I remember right the mayor of Carmel. Nothing unusual about famous people going into politics, but how many come out smelling like a rose? Carmel is one of the most beautiful places imaginable, and I had lunch in his Boar's Head Inn back when he still owned it and what a beautiful experience that was. There was a grace and pose about him that, well how many guys can punch a bag in front of Muhammad Ali and come off looking this good? https://youtu.be/Y3LXsEaaBX4?t=198

See what I mean? This has never been a perfect world but with Clint you imagine maybe it could be.
Tarantino is good, but he's no Clint Eastwood. Can't match him as an actor, for sure. As far as directing, he copies what was once upon a time in hollywood. Clint is a classic that many will emulate, Tarantino included...
I kid you not, I saw him with my just married wife in Carmel at the Hogs Breath Inn. He was eating there, he owned the place. We were there on our honeymoon. What amazed me at the time, he had a beautiful date and two bodyguards that were HUGE, BUT he was TALL, like 6,3-4" I'm 6,1. He was a Half apple taller than anyone around him.. Our waitress asked? Would you like to see Mr. Eastwood? I laughed and turned around, they were walking people by him outside his THICK glass. He sat dead center of the room though. I said NO, let him eat the Steak and Shrimp he ordered.  I love Carmel.. I think he was Mayor then. 1980-81.
Toots Lagoon too. Best breakfast you could have.. Baby red potatoes with Eggs Benedict and fresh peach preserves.

You could still get a ticket there for wearing high healed shoes.. Was still on the books last time we were there, 25 years ago.. NO they didn't enforce it.. I use to take her there for the whale watch.  I love whales... Look one of those guys in the eye.. Your in a long boat.. Trust me it aint' that long.. LOL Orca pods are pretty cool too.. BUT they are the Clints of the water for sure, humpbacks RUN from them.. Great whites, an uncommon meal, but a meal none the less Yum, Yum.. Seals though.. Nasty creature, not bad eatin' though, DON'T cook it.. you'll gag, best raw.. Orcas think so too..

They roll Clint over AFTER he get blown up, and he's laying there and opens his eyes and says something about long moon lit walks and Le-te-da, in that gravely "GUNNY" voice..
Brock Lesnar all weippe Id'.. The big dummy..

Regards

kingbarbuda  - you’ve got your gun wrong, it’s a Smith and Wesson Model 29 .44 Magnum with a 6 inch barrel.  At the time the most powerful handgun in the world, not any more, not by a long shot (pun intended!).
I don’t deserve this... to die like this. I was building a house. With speakers from Wilson Audio!

Deserve’s got nothin’ to do with it. And you should’ve ordered from Tekton!
If only I could block out the orangutan classic. Clint was a more evolved John Wayne.
Play Misty for Me.  I can tell I traded the Torino for the Porsche.  It did " make my day"
@oldhvymec GREAT call on Tombstone! Agree completely some of the best acting you will see.. LOVE that movie! So many quotable lines from that one:

"Hell Doc why would you get mixed up in this anyway"?

"Wyatt Earp is my friend"

"Hell I got lots of friends"

"I don't"...

Doesn't get any better than that...

@oldhvymec I much prefer Devino's pizza, my friend. I know some very loyal fans to Melo's though.
Thus far: no Naysayer Church intrusion.     Their religion and doctrine is True Crime.
I thought it was a 44 auto mag. weird piece. When I’d go to the range, if one of those thing were there along with most magnums, EVERYONE would clear out.. Most folks don’t plink with magnum loads. That pile of crap you got no choice. No such thing as a light load, OR an inexpensive one.. VERY expensive to practice with. They did a 22 magnum auto mag too, serious piece of work there, rimed brass is tough to feed. He did it though.. (Max Gera)

They are so loud because nothing escapes around a wheel, no ones will stand to right of it for 50 feet.. That breach opens (the barrel moves not the slide) and there is a big BOOM. Even with a brass catcher. Magnums got a serious report.. I hate umm.. Under 750 fps perfect..
45 ACP P-12 or P-14 45 perfect. 20 clip please? .380 s/auto colt for a backup..

The firing pins would come loose or out, I can’t remember. BUT it wasn’t a quick fix in the field. Don’t drop the stupid thing in the dirt.. LOL Grabbing a BU. Main weapon quit... No No no. Fix Bayonets!!, Rocks, stand ready....THROW. THEN eat um! Long Pig. Heart first. Brain last.

Personally I kept a colt on my side and a moded Kalashnikov on my shoulder.

I never had an issue I didn’t walk away from pretty whole.. Lucky more than anything, and I never used after shave..

"Skin so Soft" for the mosquitoes, and "Secret" after one day, no smell, of course Black Beauties and a sock of rice, for the picnic! Brown mix to make the water or piss right.

Whole new president, we’ll see..

Colt Peacemaker HELL, Kept the peace, it didn’t make peace.. Ended wars though...

Me I like a sling shot. :-) Pretty good with a blow gun too..

Remember when Clint did the fluffy producer. I need to re watch that one. I can’t remember the whole plot.. BUT he was a good actor, not a typical Clint part.. BUT he did a great job.. Unforgiven, relentless!! That’s me, never say never to me... NEVER.. LOL

middlemass you crack me up..

Reflect with Regards..
Correct me if I’m wrong.
I think the S&W .44 auto super mag made it’s one & only appearance in Sudden Impact. Dirty Harry used revolvers exclusively. I’m nursing a hangover so I’m probably mistaken.
