The Merlins may be fine but in general I have found large scale orchestral works can sound nice on good monitors particularly in smaller rooms but generally larger designs are needed to deliver these large scale works in particular in anything resembling a realistic manner.
Floor Standing ESL's v. Monitors: Symphonies
Just wondering if anyone with a taste for large orchestral works and jazz has gone from floor standing full range speakers to smaller monitors. Right now we are using Innersound Eros and I am seriously contemplating moving to a pair of Merlin TSM-xxx series monitors. For fear of making an incorrect move please advise on your listening impressions of the Merlins with such musical works. Thank you.
