Firewire to s/pdif

Hi all,

looking for some suggestion for a firewire to s/pdif converter for my macbook pro. Looked at the one that weiss makes but 5k is too much for me. You can buy darn good firewire dacs for 5k. I beleive the money could be better spent. There are a lot of usb but not many firewire converters.

I have both an RME fireface and a Sonic Studio 303. The RME does the Firewire to SPDIF and can be had for about $800 and the 303 does Firewire to AES/EBU and also has some impressive DSP functionality...much more expensive but excellent.

I am sure the Weiss works well also.
