zydeco on the bayou by terrance simien and the mallet playboys.just a whole lotta fun
Putomayo Presents Zydeco is a great multi-artist compilation. Worth it just to hear Rosie Ledet sing "I want you so bad, I want you bad, and Baby that ain't good" ("You're No Good For Me" from her Sweet Brown Sugar cd, also one of my favorites. My other favorites are Blues Stay Away From Me, John Delafose et al, and Silver Jubilee, the Best of Zachary Richard.
i have quite a number of zydeco lp's but my favorite remains "my toot toot" by rockin' syndney. (12 ' ep on epic.)
Want an all out killer cd of Cajun/Zydeco, try "Allons en Louisiane" on Rounder Records, #11661-6093-2 it is both a music sampler and a guide to this type of music. Check out the song Going to the Country by Beau Jocque & the Zydeco High Rollers. Issued in 1999.
