Extremely high quality, DSP, active/passive speaker kit

Hi everyone,

I found a kit from Troels Gravesen recently I wanted to share with you all. What makes it stand out is that there's a lot here that reminds me of Snell, with upgrades.

The Snell A/III series in particular, but with some important, modern upgrades.

First, the woofer isn't down firing. The cabinet is, overall, much smaller than the Snell A/III, and it uses a combination active/passive design. The woofer is powered with a DSP capable Hypex plate amp, while the tweeter/midrange uses much more conventional crossover, allowing you to use a relatively small linear amplifier for the top end.

The price, as far as kits go, at 3,500 EU is not cheap, but as far as conventional speakers is super cheap.

Figure you will spend another $2K US to have a professional speaker maker build it for you.

I wish I could tell you that I have heard these but I haven't. What I can say is the drivers and amp are state of the art. You could not approach these drivers in a retail pair for less than $20K. The Hypex DSP allows you to dial in the sub as well as the M/T in ways almost no other speaker can. While no substitute for great acoustics, the relatively small foot print of the speakers, combined with the tremendous output and configuration make these superbly interesting.
