I used to have one of these. I used it with a McIntosh SS amp and Klipsch LaScala speakers. I liked the Cary very much. Sounds like tubes, and I mean this in a good way. I sold the Cary and went to a Morrison ELAD. I later went back to a tube preamp. I would have no trouble recommending this preamp for the price. Hope this helps.
