Emotiva Xpa 2 as a mono block.

Hello need some advice. I have one Xpa 2 gen 1 amp thinking of getting a second one same gen 1 and doing them as mono blocks.

My owners manuals states that in the this mode speakers should be a 8 ohms.
My Wharfedale 250 are rated 6 ohms is there any way I could configure this to run both the amps  and speakers safely.

Thanks Wayne

This is a common problem with many stereo amps.  They can overheat and cause problems when bridged because the circuits pull too much current from the power supply.   I think you are better off selling this XPA-2 and getting a pair of XPA-1 monoblocks.
Be careful I used xpa 1L with Maggie's and they kept blowing and that was at low volume. Maybe the 6 ohm load would be okay with them.
To add to Auxinput’s comment, in stereo mode your amp is capable of supplying about 400 watts into 6 ohms, while the recommended range of amplifier power for the Wharfedale Diamond 250 speaker is 25 to 200 watts. So the speaker almost certainly wouldn’t be able to handle the additional power capability that would be provided by using two of these amps in bridged mode, even if the amps could handle the 6 ohm load (spec’d as reaching a minimum of 3.1 ohms) in that mode.

Thanks a lot guys kinda feel like I may lose the power amps and speakers by doing this! But I may get another to run a second set of
speakers in stereo mode.

Better still save up for the new Adcom 575 or 585 SE power amps!!
