Electrocompaniet EC-1: gain access to DAC?

I've got an EC-1 CDP, and am aware that this model is a combination of a seperate transport and DAC in the same box. I would like to gain access to the DAC from an external source, perhaps by adding an input jack and switch to the unit. I don't want to pay and arm and a leg for this modification. If someone can recommend who to talk to, that would be great!
