Depending on what your 834P face plate is made of and what you wish it looked like, there are many options. The first few that come to mind involve modifying the existing face plate: Paint, Nextel, chrome plate, black chrome plate, gold plate or machine refinishing and clear coating.
As replacements there is Plexiglas, Aluminum, wood, natural stone, tile and any other piece of similarly thick material that can be shaped and drilled to fit.
Another option is sell yours and buy the EAR upgrade version with chrome face used, here at Audiogon. May not cost any more than changing out the face plate you're not satisfied with.
