DVR vs DVD Recorder

Hi all: This may have been addressed already in past threads but just wanted the latest recommendations. I have Comcast HD cable TV with their supplied box. I'd like to get back to recording programs again and want to know if I should buy a DVR or DVD Recorder. What are the pros and cons? I would like to be able to record a program on the DVR but then view on another TV in the house which wouldn't have a DVR. Perhaps then a DVD recorder. What about connections to the Comcast HD box? Any guidance on this would be appreciated. THANKS.
