DVD PLAYER RECOMENDATION

I AM LOOKING FOR A DVD PLAYER THAT WILL DO THE LATEST FORMATES. I AM LOOKING TO SPEND NO MORE THAN $400 USED. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP I AM NOT TO SURE ON WHAT TO PICK UP. THIS DVD PLAYER WILL BE GOING WITH A BOSE ACOUJSTIMASS 16 SPEAKER SYSTEM AND A DENON AVR-1506 RECV. ITS NOT THAT GREAT OF A SYSTEM ITS JUST FOR MY WIFE.

THANK YOU

If it's not too late, I own the Denon and would not recommend it. I have a Panasonic DMR-E80H which has a hard disk and DVD recorder which cost $699 two years ago and it kills the Denon 1920. You can probably get the same thing new for around $300 now.
Thank You for your help. I think I will stay with the Denon and keep the system simple. I will go with the 1920 new. It is in my price range. Thanks again.

My recommendation is not to spend a lot of money. Is your TV a DLP, Plasma, LCD, CRT etc.? I just bought a Samsung with upscan and HDMI output and it wasn't expensive... the reason for not spending a lot of money is that the format is changing. The new HD DVD players will be out at the end of this year and Blu-Ray is now backward compatible. It was announced by Sony this week.
Stick with Denon for ease of use with one remote. Chadnliz is correct. You will find these discounted but beware of a lot of "B" stock (refurb or returns) and lots of unofficial dealers. For the wife, pay a little more to have it under a legit warranty.
The Denon DVD-1920 $369 brand new got high marks in this months issue of "The Perfect Vision"
If you want shoot me an email and I could go over some models listed with you on the phone.
