I have some Dunlavy speaker cables with an opening in the jacket. The internal wire does not look like anything special, but it is my understanding Dunlavy had Cardas make the wire for him and the latest, Z8 version, supposedly matches his speaker's impedance.

Does anyone know how they were constructed and how good they were? Dunlavy dissed exotic cables, but still made cables to incorporate fundamentals in which he believed. My Dunlavy speakers are gone but I'm still using the cable on contemporary speakers with a very transparent high end (ribbon tweeters), and sounds suprisingly good.
