Dunlavy SM-1 vs. SC- a

Some time ago (like 10 years or so) a friend of mine had a pair of SM-1's and I thought they were the cat's meow. I have an opportunity to pick up a pair of their 'replacement', the SC-!!a......

Can anyone offer any comparison?

Info is sparse on the SM-IIa, but it is definitely a large bookshelf speaker and not a tower. It seems to weigh 25 lbs,, more like the SC-1av while the SM-1 weighed in around 45 lbs.
