Doug Schroeder Method, Double ic

I think this topic deserves its own thread , where use double ic through y adapters , from source to preamp, Can’t connect it from Preamp to Amp...For me the result is huge, I can’t go back to single ic....

A lot of equipment today has both XLR & RCA outputs available at the same time. Could using both of these outputs accomplish the same thing?

Does the doubling of the interconnects apply to balanced (XLR) connections?

celander,

Thanks for the reply, but I do not see any reference to Doug trying the double method with , just a warning.

colander,
Thank you so much for that info.
I just ordered some XLR y splitters to try this out. The cables I am going to use are my main cables and some extra cables I have. Will that matter much if they are not of the same quality?

Well I had shoulder surgery last Friday and I received my Xlr Y adapters on Saturday, so it will be a while before I can try this tweak. Looking forward to it though.

Douglas_Schroeder,

Which is the preferred analog connections, from dac to preamp or from preamp to amp?

ozzy
Thanks teo_audio and celander.
The only thing holding me back from trying it is the recovery time from my shoulder surgery. Perhaps in a couple weeks...

Ok, I just connected double Cerious Technologies Matrix XLR cables using splitters made from Hosa Technology. They claim to be made using oxygen free copper. I’m not sure how these would compare to the Audio Sensibility but they are a lot cheaper! I have them connected from my PS Direct Stream Dac to my BSG QOL.

So far, everything seems to sound about the same as when I just used the single XLR interconnect.
I’m also going to contact Cerious to see if Bob can make some.

I may have posted my results prematurely.
The Matrix Cerious Technologies cable do take some time to resettle after being moved and sure enough a few hours later and I am really liking the sound of the dual interconnects.

Douglas, stringreen,

I don't see the double XLR interconnect at the Audiosensibility website.
