Does sellers responsibility end at FedEx?

Heavy expensive cd player sold with buyer responsible for shipping. If buyer wants ground and no insurance, am I still responsible for anything if mishaps ensue?

I offered to pay insurance and an additional $50 toward 3 day air. They said ship it quick and cheap. It's packed in original box and foam and that box is in a second outer box. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

It sounds like you are dealing with a loser of a seller, I would walk away from this deal. Another deal will always come along.

The person who actually pays the shipping agent is responsible for the performance of the shipping agent. Normally, the seller will pay for the shipping and insurance costs and just add the cost to the buyer's bill.

As far as I am concerned, the seller is responsible for any shipping related damages unless the buyer handles all of the shipping accommodations.
Thanks Mofi, you are right.

No the seller's responsibility doesn't end at FedEx, as Viridian clearly states. Well said Viridian.

But in the end, I realized I do not want to be the buyer or seller on any transaction that does not use the best and most appropriate shipping means and precautions.

Well said, and good move. Another buyer will always come along.
