Does anyone own Magnepan MGMC1 & MGMCC

CONSIDERING PLANARS FOR HOME THEATRE BECAUSE OF SPACE/DECOR LIMITATIONS. HAS ANYONE USED 4 MGMC1 AND THE MATCHING CC. I ASSUME THAT A SUB IS ESSENTIAL WITH MAGGIES USED FOR HOME THEATRE. ANY INFO COMMENTS OR RECOMMENDATIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I have a similar system as Maggieowner - MGCC in the middle with 3.6Rs and using my old MG-1c for surround with a Velodyne sub. I am having a very difficult time getting the 3.6Rs to blend - sometimes I get better imaging with the center channel off! The Velodyne is one of their cheap ones and it is not musical at all -- good for explosions bad for Bach.

I have heard the combo you are thinking about with a REL Storm sub. It was magical. The MGMC's are designed to blend with the MGCC. The REL subs commplement maggies very well - and may cost as much ast the five planers - but well worth it.

The 3.6R is a great speaker -- on a different level than the QR speakers - and they will be moved to a dedicated 2 channel system when my upgrade cycle gets to buying 4 MGMCs and a better sub.
I have not used the MGMC1 but do use a MGCC1 matched to a pair of MG 3.6R. A sub is essential along with a surround processor that allows you to crossover the Center channel at a high level. The center is only rated at 160-20kHz +-4dB. Mine is matched to a Vandersteen V2W. Once properly setup, you will hear very clear dialog.
