Do current model vandersteen speakers work with any spade speaker cables?

Hi,

I am considering vandersteen quattro speakers but have read that the speaker cable binding posts for the vandersteen can be rather fussy as to what cables fit.

I am using synergistic research Galileo speaker cables with banana plugs and wanted to see if anyone can share whether this is an issue with the quattro speakers [I will need banana to spade adapter anyone recommend particular one whose spade connector work well for vandersteen)

Kind of a pain to reterminate the speaker cables but that is option too what size spades if do that?

Have them fitted using the WBT style crimp on copper sleeves. Makes it super easy to swap them out for just about any WBT connector, and several Furutech (which I don't recommend).
I have a pair of Quatros and had to switch to the smaller 7/16" spades on my MIT cables and even then they are still a very tight fit in the barrier strips. Vandersteen specifies spades no wider that 7/16".

As to your Galileo speaker cables, any banana to spade adapter would likely degrade their performance but would do in a pinch. Here is one option for your consideration... https://www.amazon.com/Hi-end-Adapter-Speaker-Connector-Wy-yp01/dp/B00X9FET7I
Vandersteen dealer can order you the solder on gold plated ring, standard on the factory cables that come with the M7 amplifiers and available as parts. Low mass gas tight !
I use them on my shotgun biwire Kimbers on the TREO and the above mentioned on my M7 reference system. IF you are DIY, there is a bit of a trick to heating the ring, just PM me.
Audioquest share a patent w Vandersteen, so AQ parts department also have Vandy size spades in copper and silver.
