DK Design VS 1 MKII or Unison Unico integrated?

Looking to upgrade from an Anthem Integrated 2 hybrid integrated amp and wondering which would be a better purchase. My current speakers are Paradigm Studio 40 v2's. The VS 1 MKII would enable me to re-use my Amperex Bugle Boy 6922 tubes whereas the Unico uses 12AU7/ECC82 tubes.

I listen to rock, acoustic, jazz, electronic downtempo, house and drum and bass.

Anyone have any input?

I had the VS1 mkII. Be aware that if you use a subwoofer the mkII does not have pre outs to connect a sub. I've had quite a few integrateds and imo it's a pretty good deal at it's used price.

I have the MK2. I am using it with my Martin Logan SL3, and I love it so far. I have stock tubes which as we speak I am buying some new Siemens or Brimars. I can not wait to hear the difference. The MK2 has a lot of power for my setup.

Actually Foster_9, the VS.1 does have a "Line Out" that can be used to drive a subwoofer.

Another method to drive your subwoofer is through the speaker level inputs. Of course your subwoofer needs to have these connections for it work.

I'm using the VS.1 to drive a pair Onix Ref-1's. The sound: Beautiful.
