Discophile record store owner dies


There is an obituary in today's New York Times.
"Franz Jolowicz, the owner of the former Discophile record shop, a Greenwich Village institution that was for decades a mecca for classical record collectors... died on Nov.8.
Writing in the New York Times shortly before Discophile closed, Tim Page called it 'possibly the finest record in the world.' "
Prior to reading the obit I never heard of the store, but it is certainly an interesting read.

Yes..I remember it well. It was on West 8th street and I got many great EMI and Decca's imported from England. All on Harry's list. Great store!!
