Disc memo is the default display when there is no disc in the tray. The laser is unavailable except in salvage. It may be the drawer switch gone bad or gears in the transport or whatever that have gone bad that it will not open, have you tried opening the drawer manually ?
Disc Memo - Disk Drawer Shut - 707ESD
I have a Sony CDP 707 ESD. When its powered on Disc*Memo appears in the display and nothing functions/disk drawer will not open. Is this a fault code and is there a current laser pick-up available for this unit? The transport screw is also broken but when I hold it maually, nothing helps.
