Good analysis Ed. I had pretty much decided to go with CATV-HD, but considering the factors you pointed out, I'm now confirmed on that decision. Another factor that entered in was the fact that my provider (Comcast) offers a $400 buy-back of your DSS box (@$25/month to be sure, but it still helps).

I am trying to decide whether to go with digital cable or dish network. price are about the same(dish offer HD box with HD package).Can any one tell me is there any difference on picture quality between the two?I am leanning toward cable because in houston,people told me that satelite have problem everytime it rain hard down here..please help...thanks
