Diff. between "monitor" & "full range" speaker?

What is the difference between these two designations? Why is it significant?

How do the Rega r3 , r5 and r7s rate in terms of these designations?

Thank you from a newbie...
Full range goes down low on bass monitors do not.
Full range is typically defined as a speaker that reproduces frequencies from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. Most floor standing speakers can't reproduce that full range.

A monitor speaker typically refers to a speaker that needs a stand or a bookshelf to be brought up to ear level. It doesn't necessarily mean they are shy on bass.
