Mdeblanc, if you click on "threads" by Bolero32 you will see several threads covering this subject since this one.
Hi Bolero32, It's been a while since you started this post. Did you buy an amp? If so, what did you get? (I'm considering buying some 9s.)
Hi Bolero,

I've heard the "Nines" with a lot of amplifiers and IMO with the DensenĀ it's a magic dream!

Regards,
I have not heard the Devore Nines with the Jota but after reading about the Art Audio amps and the Jota in paticular, thought it might be a very good combo...
Full disclosure I am a dealer....

We have found the Art Audio Jotas to be a great match for the Nines. You would not believe the amount of deep, tight bass a 300B amp can get out of that small woofer. Yet you still get the midrange magic.

We have not had as good luck with lower-cost tube amps, like Cayin or Jolida (which I really like...just not as good of a match for the Nines).

My 2 cents.
Jet, I agree, you heard the gear at different dealers in different rooms, cables etc, so its not quite an apples to apples comparison. Now if you can get the Shindo dealer to let you borrow the gear overnight so you can compare it in your room with the Pathos, now that would be a fair comparison. The closest dealer to me (in Montreal) is known to lend out Shindo gear for auditioning, so this is quite doable.

BTW, the reason why he's so willing to lend out such exotic gear is because he said that everytime he lends it out, it doesn't come back... they always buy the piece. So beware! :)

The same applies to the LEBEN CS 600. It was probably heard at a disadvantage as well.
It is very possible that my review (Posted above) of the Shindo Massetto/Mantrachet is inaccurate. Although this is honestly how the Shindo gear sounded at the time as compared to the Pathos TT, overwhelming evidence in the form of reviews etc, would suggest that the Shindo gear was at some kind of disadvantage caused by some kind of external circumstance or circumstances when I heard it.

I look forward to comparing the Pathos TT and Shindo gear when both systems can be heard on equal footing.
Love the Devore Nines!!

I heard the Devores with Shindo Massetto pre and Montrachet Amp and the sound was very transparent and true, but the bass was just a tad on the light side for my taste and a bit netrual (at least for me). The source was a 47 Labs Flatfish CD Transport

15 mins later went to another hi fi store and heard the Pathos Twin Towers with the Devore Nines and WOW! what a beautiful sound! Very transparent and a real kick in the bass. The Pathos TT is probably not as transparent an amplifier as the Shindo gear, but for my tastes the Pathos won out. Also the Pathos is alot less $$$ than the shindo combo. Bear in mind that I listen to mostly classical and Jazz.
On another occation I heard the Leben cs600 and thought it lacked a little in the low end.

I bought the Pathos TT!!There is some kind of magic between the devores and the Pathos TT
Check out the Mastersound integrated amps too. I've heard a few with the Nines and they are worth a look.
thanks for the help i think u all right i need tube amplification but the prices high to me the diavolo is 7k$ and i need pre so its alot alot more then my budget.
i think my choices need to be around 2500 -5000$ .
so maybe integrated amp is my best option i can buy the leben cs 300 that is only 15w integreted amp if i will take cs600 of leben is more power is 30 w integreted.
or people u think is not good choice for those lovely speakers. tell me what u think on the leben in this price or u have another suggestion to tube amplificat more good that goes much better with nines.
just one more thing i talk with john devore and he says that leben is matching good with nines and cs300 is diffrenet sound more cleary but less power then is big brother cs600. but i only hear the cs600 of leben and i m not crush on the floor but maybe i need more listening to this but my budget is limit to this option my budget is more matching to cs300 of leben but i cant hear it bcz u need to wait 60-70 days until its come to israel and if u dont like it its problem i need to pay for the invite .
so i m dont know what to do ? and if someone hear the nines with pre-manly shrimp +power manly mahi
??? i wanna help and more options to check in my budget or maybe seconed hand (use)that i can buy but i m affraid bcz tube is very softly and i think its not recommended to buy use ?

people i wanna more opnions more vote to this subject . and thanks its my pleasure to chat with u all bye i m wait for more responses
I am a Devore dealer and here is my 2 cents...In general, I prefer Devore speakers with tubes or warm solid state. However, my personal favorite match for the Nines is the Art Audio Diavolo with the optional volume control. Plenty of power and finesse.
IMO, the NuForce is not even close to your best option.

A tube amp with more clarity and slam than a Cary would be good. Consider

Berning(maybe too costly), BAT VK60(cheap) or VK55, and Consonance.

Trelja distributes Consonance in North America, and I can say that for the price they crush most everything. Many of their models can be used w/multiple type tubes to better adjust to your preference. Decide on amp, and then a complementary pre. Cheers,
Spencer
when i heard the speakers with carysli80 -the sound was clear but very thin the bass very soft but its musically sound. with the nuforce+pre ear834 -the sound was diffrent more bass agood control on the speakers i think its bcz the dampactor is 4000 and sound was sharp and correct u can know when its strart and when its ended the instrument.
the bass was impresive and correct. good power on the speakers.
the lebencs600- was less correct but the sound of the singer was vocaly and impressive the bass was soft and hot but not correct like tubes do to speakers, the stage was big deep .
but my problem is i heared for only 2 hours and i think that if i need to choce one amplifier its depended on my mood for example if i wanna hear pink floyd the wall the sound was good with the nuforce and if i wanna hear dire straits the vocal sound was amazing with the leben. but the cary sli80 was not this and not this was more thiny
so people what to do ??
in israel we dont have all company representation like the great shindo that john devore use . people what u think on nuforce 9 monoblocks +pre ear834
can u give me recommendition to good company or to stay with my coorect amplificat :power advance aqoustic maa406+pre xindak3200. and the last think i have suggest to hear pre-manly shrimp +power manly mahi
??? my budget is 2500-5000 k$
I heard these speakers with the Leben cs600 and the combination sounded beautiful, powerful, detailed and delicious.
I don't know if this would apply to the Nine's, as well, but when I asked John DeVore for a recommendation for an amp for the Devore 8's he suggested a Leben.
I believe John Devore likes to demo these with Shindo gear at the shows. If you like the Leben, you'll probably like Shindo even more.
These were designed for tubes. Suggest contacting DeVore for some ideas, but here's what I know.

Just heard these w/Manley Snappers, Manley Stingray, and Dehavilland Aries 845G. They don't need much power, and will let you the differences of various output tubes. If you don't have a feel for how a SET type amp like the Dehavilland sounds vs. the sound of a push pull EL34 or KT88 type amp, you really should listen to some before you decide. FWIW, the clarity of the little EL84-based Stingray was a better match IMHO than the Snappers. The Aries 845G blew them both out of the water. (I bought these amps)

A tube preamp is probably a better match, too.

What is your budget and what did YOU think of the 3 amps you heard? What are your priorities? Cheers,
Spencer
