I have a 3910 and used it as a transport for awhile with a Peachtree Decco's internal DAC, which is pretty highly regarded. I preferred the internal DAC of the 3910, though, and switched back to analog output after awhile.
Now the 3910 digital output is going to a Beresford TC-7520 DAC with the upgraded opamps and that definitely is an audible improvement over the 3910, not by a huge margin but it's more open with better imaging in my system.
