Cut and Reterminate RCA SPDIF interconnect

I have a 3m shielded digital interconnect with RCA terminations and need to cut it to 1m to avoid coiling. The RCA connectors came molded from factory so if I cut it short I would need to use a a different RCA connector.  Just cut and solder, or need to be careful about something in particular?

First off one meter SPDIF is not a good length. It should be at least 1.5 meters long...
And the three meters is just as good.. as is.
I would think you could find a way to route the cable so it is not a problem.
When you cut the manufacturer ends and solder some other one, it may have a different match
Particularly if the current RCA end is a true 75 ohm one.
Trust me, keep it as is.
